Free SAP System Installation Guide

This blog is a guide to installing the free SAP System. In this article, we will cover how to complete an installation of the system on your own without any help from the company providing it. This can be done over a period of 4 days with little or no problem. It’s not too hard and there are many steps that you need to take before getting started so let’s get started!

Gathering the Necessary Tools and Software

The first thing you need to do is gather all of the necessary tools and software that you will need for the installation process. This includes the SAP system software, an operating system, a text editor, and a web browser. The SAP system software can be downloaded from the company’s website and your operating system can be obtained from Microsoft or Apple depending on your computer’s make and model. Once you have these items, you should install your operating system onto your computer according to its instructions. After this is done, you can move on to installing the SAP system software.

This process is relatively simple; just follow the on-screen prompts as they appear.  A text editor is a simple tool that is used to create, edit and save files. It may be included with your operating system by default or you can download it from the internet for free once again depending on your computer’s make and model. Once this has been installed, open up one of the following as they are all examples of popular web browsers:

This will allow you to view SAP HANA Studio which allows you to configure your database instance in order for it to work properly with other applications such as MS Office products like Word and Excel.

You are now ready to begin! You cannot actually run any programs that we would normally use but there is a way around this by using what’s called an emulator .

An emulator is a software program that can run on your computer and act as if it was another type of computer. In this case, we will be installing the Windows emulator which will allow us to install and use SAP HANA Studio on our Ubuntu machine.

The first step is to download the installer for the emulator from the following website: http://tools.hana.ondemand.com/win64_EmulatorInstaller_vx.xx.exe (replace ‘xx’ with the latest version number) Once downloaded, open up the file and follow the instructions in order to install it on your machine.
